Book of Life: tomo #1

Carved book, 7x10, 6 inches thick, portable lights and photo transparencies. The idea was to display two very personal old snapshot of my childhood in an intimate way. While I was carving the old encyclopedia a thought came to my mind: it was like I was dissecting a brain. At the beginning I wanted the cuts to be perfect but after four hours the cuts became like carving; I enjoyed the messy results. I would like to make two more of those portable shrines and display them together.
